UEA to validate Royal Marsden School professional degree courses

The University of East Anglia (UEA) and The Royal Marsden School in London have announced a new educational partnership.

UEA will validate professional degrees taught by The Royal Marsden School, which offers a range of sector-leading post-registration and postgraduate degrees for healthcare professionals including nurses and allied health professionals.

Students who successfully complete the validated courses will be awarded a UEA degree qualification.

As well as validating degrees, UEA will also validate individual modules as part of the new partnership - which starts on September 1.

Prof Ian Harvey, executive dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UEA, said: “UEA is a top 20 UK research-intensive university with an outstanding reputation as a provider of high-quality student-centred education and training. Here in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, we deliver a wide range of continuing professional education to the medical, health and social care fields.

“We are committed to innovative education that supports healthcare workforces to offer safe and effective care to patients. Consequently we are delighted to be working in partnership with The Royal Marsden School to validate their important portfolio of professional degree courses.”

The Royal Marsden School is set within The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust – a world-leading centre for cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education.

Dr Cathy Wilson, head of The Royal Marsden School, said: “The Royal Marsden School is entering an exciting period of growth and development and we are delighted to be working closely with UEA to continue to develop and deliver sector-leading courses to meet the needs of healthcare professionals.”
