Lecturer Practitioner

I started working as a Lecturer Practitioner at The Marsden School in 2022. Prior to this, I had worked in various hospitals across South London. My clinical background is predominantly Emergency Medicine & Acute Medicine, of which I have 12-years’ experience. During my time I worked mainly in A&E departments including job roles such as Interprofessional Educator, and Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Over the last year, I have been working with charities and agencies to deliver harm reduction medicine to high-risk patients and clients.

I currently teach across a variety of modules on the Advanced Practice in Cancer Care MSc pathway, using my experience in diagnostics, and clinical reasoning to help develop learners clinical skills. At present, I am the module leader for Physical Assessment and Clinical Reasoning in Cancer Care. I have a keen interest in high fidelity simulation as a method for developing a wide range of skills required for advanced clinical practice. Where possible I use simulation within the taught aspect of modules to deliver a variety of topics including communication, and clinical skills.

I am the Academic EDI lead for The Marsden School, I am passionate about creating an education environment that embraces individualises differences, and delivering clinical education that is reflective of the variety of patients we will see in healthcare.
