Course summary

Before beginning an application it is important for you to please read this entire page and the additional linked documents.

The Advanced Clinical Assessment in Cancer Care module will build on the foundation knowledge gained in the physical assessment and clinical reasoning in cancer module. Learners will consolidate their advanced practice skills and demonstrate their ability to support people affected by cancer through episode care from diagnosis to ongoing management. This module will allow learners to demonstrate how they are utilising their advanced practice knowledge, skills, and experience to support people affected by cancer. The module’s content is closely aligned with the Cancer Nursing Education Framework (EONS 2018) and Career Pathway and Education Framework for Cancer Nursing (RCN 2022) and the multi-professional framework for advanced practice (HEE 2017).

The aim of this module is to help the learner develop the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate complex decision-making which is involved in diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral of those living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Learners will be required to work closely with a practice assessor and practice supervisor within their clinical areas in order to develop a portfolio of practice. It is important that learners select appropriate clinicians that can support them through this module. Please refer to the ACP Pre-application pack for more guidance on selecting a practice assessor and practice supervisor.

This module is in association with: Current UEA Logo 2023
